EXTENDED HOURS ENHANCED SERVICE

These appointments are intended for patients who find it difficult to have appointments during normal surgery hours, perhaps due to work and travel commitments.
The practice is now offering a limited number of pre-arranged face to face appointments, along with telephone appointments.
If for whatever reason you cannot attend your appointment please contact the surgery in advance to cancel this.
If you fail to attend your appointment and have not cancelled in advance, you will receive a text message and this will be recorded on file and will be monitored.
GETTING YOUR TEST RESULTS
Please note, it is the patient’s responsibility to ring up for results of any tests carried out.
Please allow one week before calling for your results, unless the Doctor or Nurse has advised you otherwise. You can call the surgery between 10:00am and 5:00pm. If the result or letter follows from a hospital appointment, please allow 10-14 working days.
The practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. We will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.
The Receptionists are trained to give out the information that the GP has written on the result, but are not qualified to give out any further information.

People aged between 70 and 79 on 1 September 2022 are eligible for the free shingles vaccine.
Shingles is caused by a virus called varicella zoster, the same virus that causes chickenpox. When you recover from chickenpox most of this virus is destroyed, but some survives and lies inactive in your body’s nervous system.
The virus can then become active again later in life, when your immune system has been weakened by age, stress, illness or certain treatments that can reduce your immunity. The shingles vaccine helps to protect you by boosting your immunity
Please contact the surgery to arrange an appointment if you are eligible for this on 01655 882708.
If you are going abroad, make sure your immunisations are up to date.
