The practice is offering a limited number of pre-arranged early morning consultations on Tuesday and Thursday mornings between 8am and 9am.

These appointments are intended for patients who find it difficult to have appointments during normal surgery hours, perhaps due to work and travel commitments.

APPOINTMENTS

The practice offers a limited number of pre-arranged face to face appointments, along with telephone appointments. Please contact our appointments line on 01655 882708 to book.

If for whatever reason you cannot attend your appointment please contact the surgery in advance to cancel this.

If you fail to attend your appointment and have not cancelled in advance, you will receive a text message and this will be recorded on file to be monitored.

PRESCRIPTIONS

You can now order your prescriptions by telephone, prescription request forms in reception and via our practice website.  When ordering please state which pharmacy you wish us to send your prescription to.

Please DO NOT ORDER your prescriptions early and only order what you require as medications are not in short supply.

GETTING YOUR TEST RESULTS

Please note, it is the patient’s responsibility to ring up for results of any tests carried out.

Please allow one week before calling for your results, unless the Doctor or Nurse has advised you otherwise.  You can call the surgery between 10:00am and 5:00pm.  If the result or letter follows from a hospital appointment, please allow 10-14 working days.

The practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. We will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.

The Receptionists are trained to give out the information that the GP has written on the result, but are not qualified to give out any further information.

TEXT MESSAGES

The Practice offers a texting service to all our patients. The text messaging service allows us to confirm and remind you of appointments. This facility also allows you to cancel your appointment via your phone, which saves you time.

We may use text messages to contact you for other reasons on occasion. We require your UK mobile phone number (we are unable to text or call non-UK numbers) to do this.

If you have not provided us with your mobile number or have changed this recently please ensure to let us know.

If you do not want us to use this service, then please let our staff know, who can opt you out of using this service.

CONFIRM, CHANGE OR CANCEL YOUR HOSPITAL APPOINTMENT

The Referral Management Service (RMS) is based at University Crosshouse Hospital and is responsible for booking outpatient clinic appointments within hospital services for a range of specialities and locations across NHS Ayrshire and Arran.

The contact details for the Referral Management Service can be found on all outpatient appointment letters. If you need to contact the service, call 01563 827070.
