Breathe Easy South Ayrshire

Local support group for anyone affected by a lung condition, including family and friends. There are regular talks from healthcare professionals, as well as other local services and organisations. It’s a welcoming, supportive environment. The group is free to attend, a voluntary donation is welcome to cover refreshments. Join us on the last Tuesday of the month from 1-3pm. Community Spaces

Our Community Spaces in Shawlands, Troon and Alloa offer social and canine companionship to people over 60. Everyone from the local community is welcome, and you will always be greeted with a friendly face. Come along and enjoy a free cuppa and a biscuit, engage in conversation with members from the local community, our staff and volunteers and enjoy the company of our companionship dogs, join in our free Group Dog Walks, and access our free pet food bank.

End Fuel Poverty Coalition

Fuel poverty is the condition by which a household is unable to afford to heat (or cool) their home to an adequate temperature.It is caused by low income, high fuel prices, poor energy efficiency, unaffordable housing prices and poor quality private rental housing.

Distress Brief Intervention

Distress Brief Interventions (DBIs) are an innovative way of supporting people in distress.The need to improve the response to people presenting in distress has been strongly advocated by people who have experience of distress and by front line service providers, resulting in the DBI pilot.DBI consists of two parts, with part 1 seeing trained front-line health, police, paramedic and primary care staff help ease any individual. They then ask the person if they would like further support.
